Just because I'm procrastinating.... YET AGAIN!
I cant believe another week's gone by so quickly. I was really looking forward to my break. But I actually have to WORK during my break.... so it's not a real break really.
I have a Human Rights essay due in a week and a half time and I still havent done much of the readings. Which is FANTASTIC! Because I cant get the books that I used early in the semester for my research. So this means I have to start from scratch. UGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!
But I had a really nice weekeend eventhough I was absolutely exhausted by Sunday night.
My entire week was just blah because not only did I do nothing productive, I was physically exhausted doing absolutely nothing productive. Okay... broken record machine... i know... sorry....
On Monday, I actually watched 3 hours of Bollywood.... Kal Ho Naa Ho. It was pretty tacky as usual... But I thought not enough koh lian dai characters, if got aso not pathetic enough.
On Wednesday, I was the chaiperson for the Chinese Language and Culture Ambasadors of RMIT's Mooncake Festival event. It was disastrous at the beginning but it got really fun later on. I had really cheap but yummy mooncakes and basically ate rubbish for dinner... mooncakes, chips, fish strips, and wang wang biscuits.
The Chinese Language and Culture Ambassadors and the Chinese Teachers of RMIT
Then horr... I so happening lei.... after the festival.... lucky our debriefing was really quick.... then I went to the Trivia night, which was organised by my coursemates. It was fun. We named our group Mooncake.... hhaha... need I elaborate? And yes.... we lost! We came in Last!!!!! and we got spoons as a result. haha.... I believe it's because of the stupid Australian citizenship quiz... coz I dunno much about Australian history... duuuh... haha... But it was fun
Trivia Night at Inck. and that's my team. Go Mooncake!
the star on my head is actually meant to be a bonus... like if kenot answer, put star then u still get the point... Alecia put it on me. That's Jeanne fr Chinese Class.
 Even losers get spoons.
On Thursday, I watched Stardust! It was pretty entertaining.... Dont go in expecting to watch an epic like I did and you'll enjoy it even more.
On Friday, I didnt work or even go out with friends so I stayed home, wasted time online chatting and trying to workout my study plan and did my facial.... hahahaha... girl night in.... BLISS!!!
On Saturday, I went kia kia..... met my friend for lunch.... we went to the Botanical Gardens and had lunch at the Observatory Cafe... the Cafe wasnt exactly picture worthy so no pics... But the sun was beaauuutiful that day. I'm so glad we went to the garden then. I expected a bigger one but it was quite small... But it was a great garden nontheless.... then horr.... we went to Cafe Cortile again for my Cortile Mango. It was not as good as I first had it but okayla.... Then horr... we went to Chapel St, shopping heaven! The stuff there's more expensive but walking down the street was an experience in itself. We only managed to walk like 1/4 of the way but had to go back liao coz I had work.
By the lake in the Botanicals
 DUCCCKKK... i mean goooooseee
do you see snake like things? those are eels. eeeee
I thought it was beautiful architechture... can u see the chandelier? That's on Chapel St
Then I did the smartest thing when I got home.... as I was chatting with Ivy and Li Wei, I spilled my Iced Tea on my keyboard... now it's so bloody sticky at the bottom and typing on it feels funny.
Sunday was spent remembering the Lord and with the church people. Gosh. I tell you harr.... I ate like a pig the whole day.... dunno why. eat like pregnant woman only sial. Howwww? Fat lorrrr. ANd then Bek got me the loveliest gift ever..... she actually wrote with colored pens on the brown paper.... whcih was the wrapping paper!!! She's so fab... I love my stationaries... SHe's right, a girl can never have too many.
 eeeeee... my pretty stationaries*****
Later gg to eat Japanese with Emily. Will take more pics of food this time. ahahhaa...

Wah I tell you hah... last week was crazy man! To top it all off the week's weather forcast was really shitty.... expected rain the entire week. So that means I couldnt ride my bike on most days!
Monday I only go to the city for a screening of a movie. I was determined to cycle because I have been eating so much the week before and desperately needed exercise. Lean and mean remmeber! Seeing that it hadnt rained, I quickly grabbed my stuff and headed out the house at around 3.45 pm. There were a few showers but not the kind that would drench you. It was all good except under my raincoat, my shirt got drenched... lol... lucky I brought extra sweater. We watched Chungking Express that day and it's really the best movie I've seen so far from Hong Kong in Asian Cinemas. Fast Forward--> today we'll be watching Kal Ho Naa Ho or smtg like that; Bollywood!!!!
On Tuesday, because it was going to rain the entire day and the clouds looked threatening I decided to take the train in. After Asian Cinema's lecture I met Sharon for a bit of girl time. Went to get my Ella Fitzgerald album. Abit dissapointed it didnt have the mama and child song which I grew accustomed to at the Orang UTan. But this Cd's fantastic as well.... thanks to Farial, Tanu and Jess for the gift voucher at Sanity! Later, we went to my favorite cafe down at the Block Arcade in little Collins; Cafe Cortile... where i had Hot Choc and Chips with Aoli dip.... LAter went to the tute abit late but was good to engage with class discussion about Chungking Express.
Come Wednesday, the weather was much better. I took the train to Uni with my bike and then cycled to work. And I think I did pretty okay for my chinese exam. I've never written so beautifully before! As in my chinese characters la, not my essay. =D
By Thursday I had to force myself to start stressing out with the bloody Research Methods report assignment worth 40%. It's a really shit assignment which I've been procrastinating and leaving it till the very last minute. Finally finished the bloody readings for it at around 10.30 pm for the report and started writing what I hoped was a report at 11 pm. So pulled an all nighter lah.... write write write..... with occasional breaks, visiting my facebook, watching My Wife and Kids on Youtube. Finally got it done at 8 am. I decided I was too zombie to go for the Human RIghts lecture.
I then had a nap till 11.30 am. WHen the alarm went off I seriously lost all sense of time and space. I was pretty shocked and had to think hard what the hell I'm suppose to do next. I freaked out when I saw the time 11.30!!! But then I remembered that I actually decided to skip class. So I got ready and left just in time for Research Methods tutorial. Handed my report in after the tute and then went to Borders with Farial to read trashy magazines... Ahhh already I feel relaxed. Then had to go back to the Research Methods lecture... humph! Was soooo the super boring can die. But lucky there were handouts.
After class, killed some time walking around window shopping in Melbourne Central and I saw a bag and two dresses I want in FCUK. I want!!! haha... My mom yesterday told me off... But I dun care! I want! And I deserve it! Humph! I decided I'd go shopping with Sharon this Wednesday... weeeee!!!!!
Then horr, my friend so nice, brought me to a Italian restaurant; Grossi Florentini's Cellar Bar for what he says is the best pasta in town; and it was pretty darn good...nope no pictures. hehe... I had pumpkin tortellini but they got put fried curry leaves in; was a pretty small portion but was satisfying and yummilicious. Haha... then my friend said I buy you for your bday lah... hehe...looks like my birthweek extended a lil.
We then head over to my friend's place in Brunswick for her birthday party. It was alot of fun. I even made fallafels! The middle eastern kuih... i think they got similar things in the Pasar Malam. Then by 11 pm it was time to go home... coz on Saturday had to wake up early for the leadership workshop.....
On Saturday from 10.30 am to 2.30 pml; it was a really really loooooong workshop. I wish I had the morning off coz it was so beautiful outside and I wanted to go to the parks!!!!! Ugh..... anyways, met up with Andrew S, Andew L, Valene and Colin from church.... after what seems like arranging for a wedding to happen or something. Apparently I'm the organizer~! Anyways, after flooding my sms inbox with sms, they finally arrived at the Block Arcade on Collins. And we went to Cafe Cortile... hehe... i love that place. Aoli Chips and Cortile Mango for me! Oooo I got picture for this one hehe... And then I played Wii!!!!! Wah. whole body sore from Wii Tennis now.
L-R: Cortile Mango, Aoli dip w Chips, Ice Coffee Background: L-R: Colin and Andrew L
 Colin's artwork with his latte
Then Sunday mah spend the day remembering Christ and fellowshipping with fellow believers. Decided not to do any studying at all during the breaks; instead had a good time chatting.
Wahhh seriously one tornado week lorrrr.... Over liao... hehe...

No turning back, already into adulthood.... scarrryyyy...
Yesterday was just like any other day, except I had hoardes of text messages and facebook messages and msn messages flooding in wishing me a joyous birthday. I think that's the best part of my birthday, that people took time to send me their wishes.
After the boring 3 hours of Chinese I made an appointment to screen my Uncle's documentary to my cinema studies lecturer, Adrian Danks. It was interesting to see what he was thinking and the suggestions he made to improve it. And then had to rush home, pakai cantik cantik.... mandi bersih bersih.... haha... then time for dinner at the Tapas restaurant.... Sippers.... which really was more like a lounge. It's basically Spanish Dim Sum.... all small portion, at first you dont think you can be full with all that but in the end was all good. The house red was surprisingly pleasant to drink. After the episode in SH I darent to go overboard with my reds.
Who went? Well, the idea for dinner was really all thanks to EMILY CHONG! I didnt have anything planned coz all I wanted was a simple dinner with my sampat girlfriends on Friday night and have a good catch up session.... *aih... we all harh... live in the same country etc etc but I tell you, the worst person to try to catch up with is Chua Li Hui.... always super bz like anything.
Anyways... it was Tanuja and Jess from IS. And Yen Li, Adeline and Emily of course. Yenli and Emily were friends I met almost a decade ago at Outward Bound School. And we met again after all these years in Melbourne! It was good to catch up with the girls. ANd I really enjoyed the casual dinner. I got beautiful orchids and pretty goodies and a cake from Ms Emily Chong... Thank YOu!!!!!
I cant be bothered writing anymore... so here are the pictures!!!
i have slits for eyes man... from bottom left clockwise; Adeline, Yenli, Me, Tanu, Jess

 Seven years of friendship
Emily baked my birthday cake... it was the best cake ever!!!

Wah in exactly two hours I will be 21. Gosh, it always felt like this day would never come. Not because I really really want to be 21 but because like leaving school, it seemed like somewhere far far away. But when it was time to leave Melaka, there was quite a lot of excitement but it was not anything ground breaking, and the same with turning 21, it's just me older and perhaps wiser. =)
I cant believe it's been 4 years since high school's over and left home. Home's still home but it's strange that I dont spend most of my time there anymore.
I got a really thoughtful and emotional email from my aunt this morning. Am so grateful for the family I have and love.
And then another special thing happened too. Something that really caught me by surprise, very unexpected. Quite pleasant regardless. =)
On Monday night, Ruth and Aunty Jhi brought me to Sofitel for a really classy dinner. Thanks Ruth and Aunty Jhi, it was really great to dine with wonderful company. And of course; I have pictures of the food. Hah! My blog can be quite foodie too.... haha... that's for tempting me on yours first- Julyn, Elaine, Daphne, Pei Yee....
Looking down from the 35th floor
Ruth (taking a pic of the view) and Aunty Jhi
 my view from the restaurant!
 Ruth's veal (v yummy)
Aunty Jhi's duck and one stick of asparagus
my Peking Duck and really yummy potatoes
Of course, desert! Ruth's coffee parfait
 Aunty's triangle parfait
and last but not least, my Bombe Mont Blanc
I think I only got the names of my dish and desert right. Lol. Prob will annoy Ruth =). I think that meal will satisfy me for a long long time. =D
Tomorrow.... Tapas with the girls at Sippers!

This week got a bit of life lei. haha.... Even after an entire sleepless night on Wednesday, I managed to get just enough on Thurs nite and dragged myself just in time for the start of the lecture at 8.45am. I hate those early morning classes. Reminds me of school *shudders.... I am always able to pay attention and all that but I remain the shell of a human being until mid morning when my mind awakes.
After the Human RIghts lecture, I went to the library to do some research for Research Method's major assignment which is due in a week and a half... I am such a lazy bumm. I am still not reading the stuff which I collected... phooey.... Woke up early on a Saturday morning summore. Ciz... and now blogging.... ahaha....
Anyways, right after the mind numbing Research Methods lecture at 4.30pm, Farial, Lulu, Amy, Tanu and I wandered around Melbourne Central. Lulu and Amy went off window shopping on their own while Tanu went looking for ways to splurge on her birthday money.... which she did on two tops.... it also kept her warm at the rooftop party later on. Farial and I were starving so we went to Nando's. We were contemplating on eating dinner now or later since there would be a BBQ at Mustafa's rooftop later. I had fattening but oh-so-good peri peri chips while Farial had the chicken.
Farial's been a really wonderful girlfriend; so generous, thoughtful and a wonderful bitching partner. hehe...
Later, got Caronas... cant remember the last time I actually had them, but all good... found Mustafa's place in no time. The weather was being a bitch.... the past few days the weather was amazing and we even had a 25 degree day.... but it started threatening to rain and it was freaking cold. But I guess the beers warmed me up and I was glad that I was smart enough to rug up in the morning in my knitted sweater and scarf.
 Farial and I
I'm not in a lot of the group photos coz tak boleh tinggal my kawan berseorangan... nvm... at least I got two! haha. Talk alot of nonsense and met some more ppl in my course and glad that I'm more comfortable with them.

OOOOh.... something wrong with photobucket.... the thing kept "click click clicking" and then I just cant be stuffed doing it another time...
So no hap pictures lor!!!
Wah, this week ah, I was damn terrible you know. Last week, Farial passed me the latest Harry Potter book. Wasnt excited or anything like that... but knowing me, I read it just so I can procrastinate longer especially on my throne... haahhaha.... if you know what I mean.
I was really gwai... two weeks before my essay for Asian Cinemas is due (which is today at 5 pm) I did all the freaking research for Eat Drink Man Woman. Now ah, I'm expert liao man. ahaha..... But seriously, check that movie out, it's sophisticated yet enjoyable movie. I thought it was quite art house but then again, I quite like stuff like that. Watch!!! It's made in 1994.... when we baru standard 2 wei..... and the director is Ang Lee, duuu the one that made Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon lor.
So anyways, I got all my shit down to write the essay but I just takde inspirasi to write. So and then I procrastinate and I made my way through Harry Potter.... quite quickly.... surprising man, especially since I'm such a slow reader.... Come Monday night, I was too tired from the party (of which pictures cannot be shown coz of stewpid photobucket). The party was a surprise for Mustafa who is a coursemate from Afghanistan; he was one of the refugees aboard Tampa, the boats outside Australia in 2003 which were denied permission to enter into Australian waters/land. He got his PR and he wished to remember that day as his birthday.... So my sweet-activist-socialist coursemates all went to show support... and I did too.
the afghan gallery on Brunswick St
Quite the kns la, since I paid like $20 to eat nasi briyani and some chicking and mutton that taste the same! I keep telling myself... it's the company that matters, somehow I just didnt quite enjoy myself.... tada click la sama dia orang. Some days it's fun some day's its booorrinng... Then aiyoh... so many ppl's bday around this time plus mine summore..... I'm am predicting a very sad and lonely bank account. ahhaa...
aiyerr... i know la... Monday night.... how fresh do you think we'd look.. me and Tanu
This Friday there will be another party at Mustafa's, which he arranged for before he knew about the surprise party. So I'm going lor.... support!!! and also bringing a friend along... haha.... duwan tell u hu hahahaha...... So which means, i wont be working this Friday or the next one..... and I'll be flowering (hua) more money....
Mustafa(in white) with his Australian mum; Diane seated beside Teck
Kindda sad that I wont be able to celebrate it with my family and u all lor.... but nvm.... gg out to dinner next Friday with Hui, Jolene and Shirlee.... girls night out! Wear cantik cantik, pergi solek solek. ahahaha......
Okay.... that was retarded..... kenot blame me! I didnt sleep.... one whole night do the stupid essay la, coz I had to finish the stupid Harry Potter la (eh but was good la).... then just now try to sleep for a while but my brain too luan d.... so now I am blogging...
Later gg to sit train to city.... cant be bothered cycling today ah.... so groggy.... later wait I get into accident. Cham orh.... And then tonite sleep earrrllllyyyyyyy....... lalala

So I rummaged my closet just for fun like I always do just to find that all my pants are either getting too loose/old/got lubang. And I also have one style of pants missing.... the dreaded skinny legs. I swore off them when they first came out and was horrified by how they look on REAL women. To me Paris Hilton/ Micha Barton/Victoria Beckham and all the lanky Barbie looking women are not REAL women; coz REAL women have hips, thighs and butts i.e. curves.
So anyways, last Friday, my coursemate Farial decided she wanted to buy some jeans coz the only two pairs she owned disintegrated. And we went to Valleygirl, which is sort of like Nichii I suppose in Malaysia, cheap mass manufactured and all the latest fashions on retail. I thought she looked great in them. And she is real woman.
As I explored my not so impressive wardrobe, I realise I could do with a pair of skinny legs or footless tights. And then I had an epiphany (although non devine)... why not just try those at Valleygirl. And shockingly, I did not look vomit-trocious =). So I became the fashion victim who succumbed into buying a pair of skinny legs. See................

Ooh and I put on my leopard pumps too! =)

Wah the week really went by very slowly--- especially after Tuesday. Maybe because I was slacking; not very progressive with the prep for Research Methods presentation, and being addicted to reading blogs isnt helpful either. How wonderful it would be if books/news etc are as easy to read as blogs.
So come Wednesday I was so lost when I missed the meeting for Chinese Club, ended up grabbing some groceries... wah so proud of myself when I won the battle over the urge to grab the chocs and chips. Instead, I got dried apples and a nut-fruit mix for snacks. So healthy!!!
I am still pissed that I have to go to the city just for a one hour class on Thursday, which sucks. It started at 1.30 but I stayed on till 6 to go for the International Studies Association meeting. It was quite insightful, seeing what my peers are up to within this organization meant for ppl in my course. They're planning a Trivia Night on a Thursday which will coincide with a sleep in as well. So people will sleep in at RMIT for the homeless people cause. All good fun.
Come Friday, I got really restless. I wanna go out!!!! So I msged Jolene on MSN; cis! no reply! I thought I was going to be on the couch again, wasting precious time watching pure junk.... i love..... open the newspaper during the torturing Research Methods lecture. Was so happy when I saw that they postponed Still Life to today!! Sent several smses to ppl I thought would be interested. So good ol' Ma ke replied to say okay and bringing his kawan. I was such a good girl to stay till the end of class. Meant to go to the library to get some books for Human Rights but ended up at The ORder of Melbourne with coursemates; something I hardly ever do coz I thought we takda click la... but surprisingly I had fun! Talk alot of globalised nonsense. At 6, had to cabut to meet Ma ke and friend. DUnno why everytime I go to The Regeant, the first thing I do is use the toilet. haha... it's pretty nice. Well, probably no more "next time" since the Melbourne Film Festival ends on Sunday.
The film was different, slow, but definitely not boring. It was a pretty random and mixed up one... at one point there was a rocket ship right in the Three Gorges! Quite silly... I know my tutor would prob ask us to put it into the context of the film for meaning. And for this reason I really dont like Jia Zhang-Ke. He doesnt make sense!
Wanted to put a picture of Still Life's promo poster, but cant find it. The director isnt that hansem either...
